Allison Rice Therapy has an internship program. In order to gain certification, therapists are required to accrue a certain amount of practicum / practice hours. You can benefit from seeing one of our skilled, professional Intern Counsellors as they acquire hours for certification. We offer their services at reduced rates, with Allison’s supervision. **PLEASE NOTE: all appointment times are in Pacific Standard Time (PST)**

We are pleased to welcome Alana to Allison Rice Therapy & Associates as an intern counsellor in May 2026.

Alana is completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. With over 7 years of experience in the helping profession, she has supported clients through a variety of issues, such as relationship challenges, trauma, low self-worth, anxiety, and depression. Alana brings warmth, humour, and a non-judgmental presence to promote a space where the client can feel supported and grow. Grounded in a person-centred approach, she believes it is important to foster a strong and trusting relationship between the client and counsellor. Additionally, she may incorporate other modalities such as solution-focused therapy and narrative therapy in order to better tailor her approach to the client’s specific needs and beliefs.

Offering Counselling services as Practicum Student starting June 2026

With over 20 years of experience in providing support to families and children experiencing violence, Amy has provided group and individual support to children, youth, adults and families facing difficult life changes and challenges with relationship to self or others. She has witnessed the wisdom and strength of people to adapt and thrive despite these difficulties and deeply believes in the power of a strong therapeutic relationship to support embodied change and meaningful growth. She offers a calm, open and compassionate approach driven by curiosity and collaboration, as well as strengths-based and person-centered values.

She draws on multiple modalities such as family systems therapy, narrative therapy and emotion focused therapy, integrating these according to the needs and wishes of the person she’s working with.

She brings personal experience and professional knowledge and training in the following areas: • Supporting parents and families healing from family violence/abuse • Exploring primary attachment wounds interfering with present relationships and self-regulation • Recognizing and recovering from chronic, toxic stress or burnout • Intergenerational trauma (poverty, substance use, violence, separation, foster care, grief, loss, incarceration/systemic harm) • Coping with anxiety, depression and isolation in a complex and fast-paced world

She is honored to work alongside and support people bravely exploring healing, self discovery, reframing old stories and creating goals for new possibilities. Amy looks forward to collaboratively connecting with you to see what support could look like.
