We are pleased to welcome Jason to Allison Rice Therapy & Associates as an intern counsellor in September 2025.
Jason is a master’s candidate in counselling, currently enrolled at Yorkville University. He specializes in supporting clients navigating trauma, addiction, and relationship challenges. Using an approach grounded in humanistic and narrative therapies, meaning he sees each client as the expert in their own life, Jason believes in the power of storytelling, connection, and personal meaning as tools for healing.
He works with people who may be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected, whether due to past experiences, ongoing patterns, or life transitions. In your work together, you’ll create space to safely explore your story, make sense of what’s been holding you back, and identify what matters most to you moving forward.
Using a humanistic lens, Jason focuses on building a respectful, authentic therapeutic relationship. Through a narrative approach, he helps clients examine the dominant stories that have shaped their identities and relationships, and begin to re-author those stories in ways that align with their values, strengths, and hopes. He sees clients as partners in this process, where clients lead the way and he’s here to support and guide. In sessions, Jason brings warmth, humor, and genuine curiosity, encouraging you to explore all aspects of your experiences.
With a background in the emergency services, Jason’s journey into counselling was shaped by lived experience. He looks forward to assisting those navigating the impacts of trauma, dealing with addiction, or facing strain in family or partnership, and will be there to support you in finding clarity, connection, and a renewed sense of self.
